This past weekend (April 16th and 17th), Meat of the SaintS victoriously led the combined might of SPEAR, The Brotherhood, Fugazi, Fringe Division, and Rock & Roll Death Patrol. Produced by Mark Montoya of Casket Co and hosted by The Badlandz, this game was one of the more unique experiences I have ever had playing paintball. The underlying theme of the game was an American invasion of Russia:
After the failed invasion of the United Sates on April 4, 2016 by Ultranationalist controlled Russia, the Russian military went on the defensive. They called all available military resources to full active duty to be ready for a massive counter attach from the U.S. on April 7, 2016 the United Sates formally declared War on Russia.
The United Nations attempt to stop hostilities between the U.S. and Russia failed and the U.S. launched Operation “Red October”. 700, 000 U.S. Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force personnel (including the 75th Ranger Regiment and Task Force 141) were called to active duty with another 300,000 new recruits in reserve.
On April 17 the U.S. invaded the Russian mainland through the cities of Saint Petersburg, Murmansk, the Kamchatka Peninsula, and Volgograd. On April 28th the Battle of Khimki forest begun with both sides fighting through dense forest and brush suffering heavy losses. Now each side will have eliminate the other in order to leave this hellish place alive.
Saturday was bitterly cold and there was constant rain. Â The only thing more fitting for a game centered around an invasion of Russia would have been snow…
The Russian forces (led by Princess) were given about 30 minutes to occupy the three main forts at The Badlandz. The American forces then invaded the field in an attempt to push the Russians off of one of the forts to claim as their own base. While the initial assault was slow and costly, the American forces managed to capture both the Ravine Fort and Hell’s Castle within the first hour of play. Â For the remainder of the morning the American’s attempts to capture the Center Fort were repelled by the Russian forces.
After lunch the American’s started in Hell’s Castle while the Russian forces pushed in from the Ravine fort.  We made a push for the Normandy area to capture a High Valued Target (HVT) that was to have launch codes for missiles.  Unfortunately, by the time the American forces made their way to the Normandy area the HVT was nowhere to be seen.  In addition to not being able to find the HVT the Americans made heavy contact with the Russian line and lost a large number of troops while trying to withdraw from the area.
Evident by how hard each side was fighting Day 1 ended very closely; the Americans were only down by 200 points.
Expecting high winds and even colder temperatures the SaintS and a number of SPEAR players retreated to the safety of local hotels for the overnight stand-down. Â After hot showers and warm beds the American forces were absolutely revitalized on Sunday morning. Â With temperatures reaching the 60s and mostly sunny it was a much better day for paintball.
The American forces, once again, started in Hell’s Castle while the Russians started in the Ravine Fort. Â While the majority of the American forces pushed as far toward Center Fort as possible, Loki, Predator of SPEAR, and I held a rear guard/outer base defense to protect against the Russian special forces who were able to enter the battlefield from anywhere. Â While admittedly boring, seemingly thankless work we were able to deny the Spetsnaz multiple times.
After lunch, we started in the Ravine fort and the Russians started from Hell’s Castle. Â Our objective was to take multiple ammo crates to a flag that was on the other side of the Center Fort. Â There were firefights across all fronts that delayed the American troops from their objective. Â However, a final hard push allowed them to deliver the crates with minutes to spare on the objective.
Shortly after this mission, Mark Montoya, the producer of the event, suited up and led a small third team of Neo Nazis near the Slope field.  The Americans and Russians both swarmed the field in hopes of disarming the nuclear bomb that had been armed by these fanatical forces.  Vastly outnumbered, Mark and his small team were quickly eliminated and Task Force 141 (Rock n’ Roll Death Patrol) disarmed the bomb, scoring the final points of the event.
With nearly 40 minutes left on the game clock the, Meat refused to withdraw from the field, and ordered all American forces pull back to the Ravine Fort and deployed a defensive rings. Â The Russian forces that had not left the game early hurled themselves at this defensive line. Â At the height of the firefight additional American reinforcements entered the battle and counter-attacked. Â Shortly before the “game over” call the Russians had been pushed back all the way to Center Fort again.
Final score was Russians: 1,250 and Americans 1,900. Â Simply an amazing game!
